Why are the Dutch so successful? In the 17th century our country became a center of international finance which to this day represents a modern economy and political model, also compared to our neighbours in the EU. People from everywhere came here to find work. It had everything to do with our decentralized cooperative model we call “polderlandschap” which we have used ever since.
