This week a Bitcoin Bloodbath! A gigantic battle inside the Bitcoin Cash community with a hard fork between titans as Roger Ver/Bitmain versus Craig Wright (the guy who claims to be Satoshi Nakamoto). Lots of uncertainty and investors are worried with as result that the whole crypto market plunged.

We talked about this yesterday at the 1st anniversary of Bitcoin Magazine. Justin Bons (founder Cybercapital) thinks it’s a very important day because the Bitcoin blockchain is saved & the crooks are defeated! He argues bitcoin is a scam and Bitcoin cash is the most important coin. Investor Peter Moricz, known for his opinionated views, explains this bloody wednesday.

Then the future of manufacturing & smart city! Is it possible to 3D print a metal bridge? Well, MX3D printed a 12 meter long stainless steel bridge, which will be crossing an Amsterdam canal in the red light district. This bridge is smart and aware and is equipped with lots of Internet-Of-Things sensors. How do you 3D print a bridge like that and why does it need to be smart? Are cameras with face recognition not better? Alec Shuldiner explains his vision to go from one smart bridge to a smart city with respect for privacy.

Every few years I talk to Harold Goddijn, the CEO of TomTom. He is controlling a rollercoaster! In part 1 we talk about the current business, namely sharply declining device sales, selling the hugely successful telematics division, growing automotive sales and the core mapping group. Next week we will discuss the future of the company and what role they play in autonomous driving revolution.

One of the most interesting programs at Web Summit was Women In Tech sponsored by Booking.com. Last year was announced that women attendees got 90% off on tickets (€72 instead of +- €800) to encourage them to come to the conference as well. I interviewed Emily Firth-Creek of Booking.com, led by a female CEO, about the program and the diversity within their company: 20% of their tech department is female. Who else are at this booth? And what are their projects?

And what else is there to see at Web Summit? The revolutionary camera tracking software by MoonVision can track what food goes out and in, but this is only the beginning. Why would restaurants want to use this? What else can it be used for?

At the Mercedes Benz booth at the Web Summit 2017 was a lot of innovation but no selfdriving yet. Why is that? And when will they start introducing autonomous driving?

There were also lots of blockchain projects at the Web Summit 2017. One of them is 4IRE, a lab for decentralized apps on the blockchain. What are their plans?

I’ve been using Mailchimp for my weekly newsletter for around 4 years now. I’m very satisfied with the service but I think it’s quite expensive. What are the alternatives? Why would SendGrid be a better option? I’m very curious to find out and will start testing it! What’s your platform?
