Greg Shapiro came to the Nederland’s from Chicago and has been involved in Amsterdam based comedian community Boom Chicago since the very beginning! Over 26 million people know him as the voice of Donald Trump in the Zondag met Lubach viral video The Netherlands Second and now has his own show The United States of Europe.
Boom Chicago turns 25 this year and it’s being celebrated with a big birthday party bash in the Royal Theater Carré on Saturday July 14 with two fantastic shows. One will be a performance by alumnus Seth Meyers, host of Late Night with Seth Meyers. The second show that evening will be the Boom Chicago&Friends show featuring Boom Chicago’s current and former cast and Dutch comedy friends like Ruben van der Meer and Horace Cohen.

I visited The Next Web virtually and was intrigued by one of my heroes Kevin Kelly (ex-Wired Editor in Chief) who gave a great presentation about what happens when Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality become common place. What will the world look like? He recently wrote his 8th book “The Inevitable” about the twelve technological forces that will shape the next thirty years. According to Kelly, much of what will happen in the next thirty years is inevitable. The future will bring with it even more screens, tracking, and lack of privacy.In the book he outlines twelve trends that will forever change the ways in which we work, learn and communicate:
Becoming: Moving from fixed products to always upgrading services and subscriptions
Cognifying: Making everything much smarter using cheap powerful AI that we get from the cloud
Flowing: Depending on unstoppable streams in real-time for everything
Screening: Turning all surfaces into screens
Accessing: Shifting society from one where we own assets, to one where instead we will have access to services at all times.
Sharing: Collaboration at mass-scale. Kelly writes, “On my imaginary Sharing Meter Index we are still at 2 out of 10.”
Filtering: Harnessing intense personalization in order to anticipate our desires
Remixing: Unbundling existing products into their most primitive parts and then recombining in all possible ways

Tijdens het Simac evenement sprak ik met André Kuipers, die als Nederlandse Astronaut van de Europese Ruimtevaart Organisatie ESA tot nu toe 6 ruimte missies heeft volbracht. Hij beantwoordde onder andere vragen mijn dochter Mariah (9) over ruimtevaart en hoe je astronaut wordt. Het niveau van technologie in de ruimtevaart is erg laag. Dingen die hier op aarde al lang gebruikt worden, zoals iPads, mogen niet direct mee naar de ruimte. Hoe zit dat?
Elon Musk heeft SpaceX grote plannen op naar Mars te gaan. Andere landen en organisaties beginnen mee te gaan in dat enthousiasme. André is er wel eens geweest en is erg te spreken over de jonge out-of-the-box mentaliteit mensen die aan SpaceX werken. Wat is de rol van Elon Musk? Hoe lang duurt het voordat we naar Mars gaan en gaat André dan mee? Hij beantwoordt al je vragen!
President en COO van SpaceX, Gwynne Shotwell, werd deed onlangs een uitgebreid interview bij TED over de plannen. Binnen 10 jaar willen ze met Raketten in een half uur van New York naar Shanghai kunnen vliegen voor passagiers. Ook willen ze met satellieten zwevend rond de aarde iedereen van internet voorzien. En natuurlijk de missie naar Mars. Wanneer gaat dit gebeuren? Wat moet er nog gebeuren? We weten dat Elon altijd erg optimistisch is met zijn voorspellingen. Wat denkt Gwynne?
Roel Verhaert was 15 jaar staatssecretaris van de stad Antwerpen. hij is oorspronkelijk begonnen als programmeur op een mainframe en was op het einde verantwoordelijk voor 8000 mensen. Hij ziet blockchain als een stukje licht in de duisternis met de mogelijkheid om bureaucratie te verminderen, overheids ambtenaren meer nuttige zaken te laten doen en de efficiëntie, het gemak en het genot van overheidsdiensten fundamenteel te veranderen. Een aantal lessen zijn vastgelegd in dit boek 50 praktische voorbeelden van blockchain in de praktijk. Ik interviewde hem tijden Blockchain in de Praktijk, een seminar het boek en blockchain projecten van de overheid!
Een voorbeeld van de projecten is een spectaculaire voting app die direct vragen in de tweede kamer opriep.

Wat een “Dag van de Crypto” week: 1.500 mensen kwamen naar de RAI! Ik had 2 doelen voor het congres: crypto regulering in Nederland bespreken en mensen enthousiast maken over crypto. Beide zijn blijkbaar niet gelukt… de totale crypto markt is sinds maandag met $200 miljard gedaald (33%) en de minister wil Bitcoin verbieden!! Dat verbod geloof ik niets van; zelfs AFM en DNB betoogde maandag op het congres dat dit niet gaat gebeuren! Kijk het zelf nog even na. De volledige streams van Maandag en Dinsdag zijn nu terug te bekijken met klikbaar programma in de comments zodat je er makkelijk doorheen kan klikken.
Ook hadden we DVDCTV en werden er door IEX, Quote, Bitcoin magazine en mijzelf 40 interviews gedaan, de pers was ook goed vertegenwoordigt met o.a. items en videos van De Telegraaf, Powned, RTLZ, IEX, Quote, NRC, Sprout, Emerce en Bitcoin Magazine en vele anderen.
